Come to the Auction for bargains and entertainment!  Auction merchandise ranges from ordinary household furnishings to new wholesale merchandise to fine antiques.  To keep up with upcoming auctions, register to be included on the mailing list while at the Mill or by calling 252-536-3100, extension 302. 

The auctions are lively and fun.  Food is always available at the auctions, so come have fun, see who is buying and get a deal.  Many of our dealers find some of their best buys at our auctions.

Do You Have an Estate or Collection You Want to Auction?

If you need to dispose of an estate, reduce your own inventory of antiques or collectibles, or just move merchandise quickly and conveniently, an auction is often the best way.  Roanoke Valley Auction Company has been conducting auctions in eastern North Carolina for over 20 years, and has a loyal following that assures your merchandise will receive attention from numerous potential buyers. 

It is not unusual to have over 100 buyers present for an auction at the Mill.  Auctions are publicized by mailings and by internet listings on AuctionZip.com, and in other ways where the particular auction demands other types of advertising.   Since the auctions are conducted in rooms adjacent to the Antiques Mall and the Shoppes at Riverside Mill, those dealers and shop owners are frequently on hand to make the bidding lively.

Sales commissions vary depending on the volume and quality of merchandise being consigned, and on whether or not the merchandise is packed and delivered to the auction, or whether the auction company must pack and/or transport the merchandise.  The auction company will also consider purchasing inventories of merchandise outright.

You may also consign smaller quantities of merchandise for inclusion in an auction.  A number of individuals supplement their incomes by being “pickers”, who pick up items for resale at auction.   Anyone can get in on the fun and profits of being a “picker”.
